The History
In the 1970’s the cardinal Karol Wojtyła (who then became the Pope John Paul II) took a lot of care in founding the Parish and building the church in the Oficerskie housing estate in Krakow.
However, it wasn’t until after many years that the permission to build the church was granted. The parish of the Divine Mercy was founded on Christmas Day in 1989 and Zygmunt Kosek has been the parish priest ever since.
Location
The parish of the Divine Mercy is located in the Oficerskie housing estate in Krakow 2 km from the Krakow Old Town and 1 km from the main railway station. The Oficerskie housing estate is in a convenient location as it is easy accessible because of the great public transport connections close by.
